Product Description Radar/Laser Detector/Scrambler with DDIa Technology and Bilingual Voice Alerts
Amazon.com Product Description Rocky Mountain's RMR-C450 alerts you to all radar bands, and offers 360-degree laser detection. It also provides the benefit of undetectability by alerting you to the presence of VG-2 and VG-3 signals, aka "radar detector detectors," and incorporates Safety Alert and Safety Warning System detection. Even better? An on-board radar/laser scrambler for some real peace of mind. Powerful detection with integrated radar/laser scrambling. Click to enlarge. | Radar/Laser Detector The RMR-C450 gives you 360-degree detection of all Radar bands (X, K, Ka, SuperWide, Pulse, Instant-On) and all Laser Speed Devices (Pro-Laser, LTI, Laser-Lite, and Stalker). Adaptive laser tracking (ALT) ensures better laser performance. Integrated Radar/Laser Scrambler In addition to detection, The RMR-C450 will scramble all radar and Lidar guns. Brilliant alert screen with dimmer. | Mount for windshield attachment. | Includes coiled vehicle power cord. | - Laser Scrambler
Lidar sends out laser pulses and measures how long it takes to hit your car and come back. From the speed of light it can determine your range. It sends out several more pulses and calculates your speed from the change in distance over time. The RMR-C450 transmits pulses electronically timed at 100 feet apart. This only allows the Lidar to see up to 100 feet so it is unable to calculate your speed.
- Radar Scrambler
It works on all police radar bands (X, K, Ka, super wide). Inside the scrambler are 3 elements: an FM chirp generator, a mixer diode and a dual ridge wave-guide antenna. When the scrambler is hit by a signal it runs it through the mixer, adding the FM chirp to mix up the signal and using the antenna, reflect back this new signal to the radar gun. The radar gun's computer can't recognize the new signal; it gets confused and won't display a reading on the gun, leaving a blank screen. Voice Alert Voice Alert with Intelli-Voice voice synthesis keeps you aware while you keep your eyes on the road. Plus it's bilingual--select between English/Spanish. Advanced Micro-Scan Scans the radar bands 2-4 times faster than as any other detector. This allows Rocky Mountain devices to pick up the new P.O.P. radar that no one else can. Smart-Scan When Rocky Mountain devices detect radar in one scan, they repeat that scan, instead of completing programmed scans and returning. This means they detect quicker with less false alarms than any other detector. VG-2 and VG-3 Immunity VG-2 and VG-3 are devices police use to detect radar detectors. This model provides the benefit of 'undetectability' by alerting you to the presence of VG-2 and VG-3 signals. Safety Alert and Safety Warning System The RMR-C450 unit incorporates the Safety Alerts (SA) and Safety Warning Systems (SWS) detection. This safety feature warns you of the presence of potential road hazards by detecting signals from safety transmitting devices. City Mode The false-alert are often caused in urban areas by automatic door openers and alarm systems. The RMR-8RD features a City mode, in which the X band is not detected and K/Ka band sensitivity is lowered. What's in the Box RMR-C450 Unit, Windshield Bracket, Power Cord, User's Manual

Great! August 4, 2010 Maurice Mckellar Jr. (Durham NC) RMR works just like the instructions state. Don't listen to the negative press. Definitely, don't listen to Radar Roy, below:
A former sheriff's lieutenant who lives near Wickenburg has been placed on probation for computer tampering. Roy Richard Reyer (Radar Roy), 47, was indicted April 26 by a state grand jury on charges of defrauding DirecTV, a satellite television company. Reyer, who was accused of selling counterfeit computer cards that allowed programs to be pirated, pleaded Oct. 26 to a charge of solicitation to commit computer tampering
I was surprized this is for sale on amazon.... July 15, 2010 Roger Dunn (Santa Cruz, CA) Having been a long time user of radar detectors, I was surprised to see this on Amazon. This unit cannot "scramble" radar or laser. There is nothing outside of the military that has the power to "scramble" or confuse a radar gun. This unit also cannot jam or scramble laser. This is total false advertising and my suggestion is do not purchase this or any equipment from this company. It is highly likely that the positive reviewers are (as another poster put it) likely shills.
It Works!! June 22, 2010 L. Messer First of all, I do not work for RMR like this one post suggests.
I bought my first RMR radar/Jammer about 6 years ago. I have always had some what of a heavy foot. Ever since I have been using it, I have never been pulled over for speeding.
I live in the Fort knox, KY area and there are a lot of unmarked cops that try to get ya. I have had the same unmarked pull me over, after flying by him, doing well over 15 to 20mph over the posted speed limit. First thing the cop did was looked in the window to see what kind of radar I was using. Then he proceeded to give me a ticket because one of my headlights were out. Actually made me go to court with the receipt to show that I had fixed the light. What an azz.
There should have been many times that I should have received a citation for speeding. Biggest one was going down the interstate and around a curve that had a hill. The speed limit was 65 and I was doing close to a 100 when I popped over the hill. I thought I was done when I seen the cop. He was standing outside of his car with a radar gun pointed right at me. I let off the gas and heard the radar detector go nuts. It was going through all the channels. By the time I was passing the cop, I was still doing 15 over but didn't hit the brakes. The cop never got into his car to get me. Talk about someone's buthole puckering up, lol.
Bottom line, I trust it. If I switch cars with the wife, I switch detectors. I just ordered my next one for the wifes car so I won't have to switch them all the time.
Mountain Radar works April 26, 2010 Cary Rayle (Annapolis, MD) I had the product for over a year with NO Tickets. As soon as it stopped working I recieved a ticket. The reason it broke was due me dropping probably but the speaker was starting to fail before that. I tried to return it but the company had no record of me sending my registration in. It was the lowest priced unit that worked I could find. I'm convenenced the product works but make sure you send your registration certified mail and keep your reciept.
Think I should have bought a Bell March 22, 2010 Don H (Alamogordo NM) I've been using the C450 since November 2008 and have gotten 3 speeding tickets!!! In my opinion, the unit is totally ineffective against the instant-on radaring technique that NM State Troopers seem to prefer using. I drive from Alamogordo to Las Cruces (140 miles a day) 5 to 6 days a week...so needless to say I haul the mail. This unit seems to be effective at detecting a radar signal if the cop has their radar on continuosly. As far as the jamming feature...let's just say I'm not convinced! About a week ago the voice box suddenly started acting weird and now I can barely understand what it is saying. I contacted the manufacturer (located in El Paso TX) and they said if I bring it in they will fix it while I waited free of charge since I bought it less than 3 years ago and if I had my receipt. I'll get it fixed and am sure I'll still use it, but I'm seriously thinking about buying the Bell GX65. Also, I agree with the other review about the annoying start-up sequence it does.
